Chandni Chowk and the area around is hub to some of the tastiest food in India whether it’s Kebabs, Tandoori Chicken, Paranthas or just a cup of milk tea (chai).
Ustad Chaiwala has its shack just near the Jama Masjid and has been serving tea for years. It’s interesting to see the tea being served at this place esp. on Friday evenings (after the evening prayers) with the guys in the shack not having even a second to spare. One guy is constantly boiling milk, another one is arranging the glasses, third one keeps filling those glasses with tea and the fourth one tops them with cream (in case its a special chai). Well one can’t imagine that even just serving tea can be such a thriving business (and this guy has been doing it for years… the state of the shack doesn’t reflect that though)…
and yes I had my cuppa tea and it was worth it!!!
